PETER STOKES

Chief Executive Officer

Peter is a senior executive leader with more than 25 years’ experience across the resources and logistics sectors.  His expertise includes managing large, complex multi-national organisations, delivering company-wide transformation and turnaround, business development, operational management and strategic planning.  

Most recently Peter held the role of President Global Logistics for Toll Group, a key operational role for one of the largest logistics and transport businesses in Asia. Prior to this, he was CEO for Barminco Limited, an international leader in mechanised hard-rock underground mining. He has also held executive management roles for Linfox and Accenture, where he focussed on the resources sectors.   

Peter holds an Advanced Management Program qualification from Harvard Business School (Boston) together with an MBA (Bond University, Queensland), MASc (WA School of Mines) and BSc (UWA, Western Australia).

RICK ROBSON

Chief Financial Officer

Rick has over 18 years’ experience across corporate finance, M&A advisory and operational finance. He has most recently held the role of Chief Financial Officer for our laboratory business, MSALABS. Prior to joining Capital Drilling in October 2019, Rick was the Chief Financial Officer of a project development company with several greenfield assets in Colombia where he developed and ran the finance function. He was formerly an investment banker with Barclays where he was focused on the mining sector.

Rick qualified as an ACA (ICAEW) with Deloitte in the UK working across Transaction Services and Audit. He holds a Masters in Civil Engineering from Durham University, UK.

JEFF COURT 

Chief Executive Officer - Operations 

Jeff has worked in the mineral resource sector for over 25 years, and has covered roles for mining companies, mining service and mineral processing capital equipment suppliers. Jeff’s roles have ranged from drill and blast, mine production, scheduling and operations, mine feasibility and long-term planning for Rio Tinto, through to senior executive and Board roles with Orica (blasting services and ground support), FLSmidth (mineral processing capital equipment) and most recently with Perenti (formerly Ausdrill) (drilling and mining contract services).  These roles have spanned across Australia, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and North America. 

Jeff brings a holistic and global view to all aspects of improving the mining value chain through to delivery of operational excellence and technical differentiation. Jeff has a degree in Mining Engineering and a Masters in Business Administration.

JODIE NORTH 

Chief Operating Officer - Drilling 

Jodie is Chief Operating Officer - Drilling, responsible for managing drilling services in the MENA and East Africa regions. Jodie joined the Group in August 2012 as Country Manager, Egypt and was promoted to Executive - Production in October 2016, responsible for the company's production focused business. He was appointed to his current role in March 2019. Jodie has 20 years' experience in both underground and surface operations, in both hardrock and softrock mining. He was previously Aftermarket Operations Manager, West Africa for Sandvik where he was responsible for the effective delivery of aftermarket services to Sandvik customers across all segments in West Africa.

DWAYNE SYMONDS

Chief Operating Officer - Projects 

Dwayne has over 30 years' experience in surface mining operations covering both hard rock and soft rock, having held various senior leadership positions with mine owners and contractors throughout Australia, Asia Pacific and African regions.  He has proven success in developing greenfield and optimizing brownfield open pit mining operations, undertaking large scale mine site infrastructure projects and development of national employees to replace expatriate roles. 

Dwayne has held roles including Project Director for Theiss Australia JV in Botswana, Operations Manager for Theiss Indonesia looking after large-scale coal mining contracts, Mine Manager for Newcrest at its Lihir Gold Mine in PNG and Mine Manager for PanAust in Laos, as well as consulting roles in Laos and Vietnam.

MARK SINTON 

General Manager, Mining Operations

Mark is an accomplished senior mining professional with over 30 years’ experience in the mining industry. He has extensive experience in mining operations management and has held senior management roles for major mining services and mining companies including African Mining Services, Perseus Mining, Noble Group, Leighton International, BHP and Thiess. He most recently held the role of African Operations Director for DTP Mining, responsible for operations in Mali, Ivory Coast, Guinea and the Democratic Republic of Congo. 

Mark has expansive knowledge of all facets of surface mining operations, equipment selection and operation gained from his experience at multiple gold and coal operations across Asia Pacific, Central Asia and Africa. He also has broad experience in remote location operations.

STUART THOMSON 

Chief Executive Officer, MSALABS 

Stuart has over 25 years' experience in both mining and mining service companies. This experience covers many countries, commodities and mining methods. His roles have ranged from Driller's Offsider to Mine Manager and JV Board Director. Prior to Capital Drilling Stuart was Customer Solutions Manager accountable for the Marketing and Commercial activities in Orica’s Australia-Pacific business. Stuart has a consistent track record of finding and creating value in the drill and blast arena and further down the mining value chain. 

 Stuart has a degree in Exploration and Mining Geology and a Masters in Engineering Project Management. He is also a member of the AusIMM.
