Chief Financial Officer
Giles is an experienced financial, professional and strategic thinker. He has over 30 years’ experience, the large majority in the international mining sector in CFO, executive and non-executive roles with listed global companies across Africa, Asia, South America and Australia. Giles has extensive acquisition, debt and equity capital markets, working capital management and financial restructuring experience, as well as strategy and ESG framework development.
He most recently held the roles of Non-executive Director and then CFO at ASX listed Macmahon Holdings Ltd, leading the company during a period of significant growth and transformation. He has also held the role of CFO for Monadelphous Group Limited together with Senior Financial Executive roles with Fluor, Rio Tinto and Coopers & Lybrand.
Mr. Everist also holds Non-executive Directorships with ASX listed Austal Limited and Norwood Systems Limited, including the role of Chair of Audit & Risk Committees for both companies.
Chief Operating Officer
Jodie North is Chief Operating Officer, responsible for managing Capital’s operations and site personnel and achieving contractual compliance and client satisfaction. Jodie joined the Group in August 2012 as Country Manager, Egypt and was promoted to Executive - Production in October 2016, responsible for the company's production focused business. He was appointed to his current role in March 2019. Jodie has 20 years of experience in both underground and surface operations, in both hardrock and softrock mining. He was previously Aftermarket Operations Manager, West Africa for Sandvik where he was responsible for the effective delivery of aftermarket services to Sandvik customers across all segments in West Africa.
Chief Development Officer - Mining
Jeff has worked in the mineral resource sector for over 25 years, and has covered roles for mining companies, mining service and mineral processing capital equipment suppliers. Jeff’s roles have ranged from drill and blast, mine production, scheduling and operations, mine feasibility and long-term planning for Rio Tinto, through to senior executive and Board roles with Orica (blasting services and ground support), FLSmidth (mineral processing capital equipment) and most recently with Perenti (formerly Ausdrill) (drilling and mining contract services). These roles have spanned across Australia, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and North America.
Jeff has a degree in Mining Engineering and a Masters in Business Administration. He brings a holistic and global view to all aspects of improving the mining value chain through to delivery of operational excellence and technical differentiation.
Chief Executive Officer, MSALABS
Stuart has over 25 year’s experience in both mining and mining service companies. This experience covers many countries, commodities and mining methods. His roles have ranged from Driller's Offsider to Mine Manager and JV Board Director. Prior to Capital Drilling Stuart was Customer Solutions Manager accountable for the Marketing and Commercial activities in Orica’s Australia-Pacific business. Stuart has a degree in Exploration and Mining Geology and a Masters in Engineering Project Management. He is also a member of the AusIMM. Stuart has a consistent track record of finding and creating value in the drill and blast arena and further down the mining value chain.
David Payne is Executive, Commercial having joined the company in 2005. He was previously the General Manager of an Australian based national law firm in addition to holding a number of senior managerial roles with Zurich Financial Services Australia. David has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Murdoch University and a Graduate Diploma in Insurance from Deakin University.
Executive, Asset Management
Tony is a highly accomplished professional with a multifaceted work history combined with a comprehensive exposure to underground, surface mining, maintenance and business development management, with over 25 years in Australia, PNG, Philippines and Africa. Tony has a proven ability to enhance functional excellence through the development and implementation of maintenance management systems and protocols.
Executive, Corporate Development
Rick has over 18 years’ experience across corporate finance, M&A advisory and operational finance. Prior to joining Capital Drilling in October 2019, Rick was the Chief Financial Officer of a project development company with several greenfield assets in Colombia where he developed and ran the finance function. He was formerly an investment banker with Barclays where he was focused on the mining sector.
Rick qualified as an ACA (ICAEW) with Deloitte in the UK working across Transaction Services and Audit. He holds a Masters in Civil Engineering from Durham University, UK.
Ryan has over 22 years’ experience in the mining industry. His extensive exposure to both surface and underground mining includes 14 years in maintenance management roles. He has worked across diverse emerging markets around the world including Australia, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Pacific Islands, Europe, and Africa. Ryan has held roles for companies including Sandvik, Freeport, Redpath, and Major Drilling, before joining Capital in 2010.
As Executive, Maintenance he is responsible for ensuring Capital’s fleet is maintained to the highest standards to ensure reliability and mechanical availability, measuring and monitoring performance and maintaining the Group and site-specific maintenance management systems. Ryan will focus on ensuring continuous improvement initiatives are implemented throughout the Group.
Rick is an accomplished HSEQ Manager with a proven record of achievement. He has over 16 years’ experience in the mining industry within the fields of Safety and Training, having held HSEQ management roles in both surface and underground mining operations. Rick has experience working in geographically diverse markets including Australia, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Europe, and Africa. He has held roles for companies including Major Drilling, Boart Longyear and Britmindo before joining Capital in 2016. As Group HSEQ Manager Rick is responsible for the Group’s Training, HSEQ and Operational systems and processes, including their development, implementation, measurement and ongoing monitoring and maintenance.
General Manager - West Africa
Ahmed is a highly experienced Mining Manager with notable success directing a broad range of projects across North America, Africa and the Middle East. He has over 20 years’ experience in the mining and drilling industry in senior roles including Mine Manager for Kinross’s Tasiast Gold Mine, Mauritania and his most recent role as Country Manager for Drill Corp Sahara in Saudi Arabia.
Ahmed’s experience includes planning and implementation of feasibility studies, managing site safety, environmental, P&L and personnel performance and ensuring overall efficiency of mining operations to deliver to schedule and budget. He is responsible for managing Capital’s expanding operations across West Africa.
Ahmed has a Masters Degree in Mining Engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla.
