Safety & Training

At Capital Drilling, safety is our number one priority, sitting at the heart of the company values. We have developed a large team of health & safety specialists and we deploy these dedicated specialists into all of our countries of operation. We’re committed to regular performance appraisals & operate in an environment of continual improvement. Safety, as a core part of our culture, is driven from senior management all the way through to our base level personnel.

As part of the development of our health & safety culture, we established the division as a separate business in January 2009, naming it Capital Support Services (CSS). CSS is a multifaceted company designed to provide a service in, but not limited to the Drilling & Mining Industries, with the following scope of support services:

• Safety Management
• Environmental Management
• Human Resource Management
• Systems Management
• Training Management

The groups mandate was originally focused on continual improvement within Capital Drilling, but has since expanded its services to a number of mining and exploration companies in Africa.

The efforts of CSS and Capital Drilling has resulted in the Capital Drilling Group attaining formal certification in:

• ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management
• ISO14001:2004 Environmental Management
• OSHAS18001:2007 Occupational Health & Safety
• SA8000 Cultural Accountability
